Savoring the Flavor of The Big Easy

New Orleans, the vibrant jewel of the South, is a city known for its rich culture, lively music scene, and, of course, its mouthwatering cuisine. Our New Orleans’ office put together their own food tour, uncovering the city’s hidden gems and local culinary delights. We’re excited to share the top recommendations from our New Orleans team members: Josh Schooler, Aaron Martin, Emily Jones, and Lindsay Gonzales.

From cozy French bistros to trendy cocktail lounges, brace yourself for a delectable journey through the Crescent City.

Emily’s First Stops for Breakfast:

Elizabeth’s: For a dose of home-grown yumminess, Emily suggests Elizabeth’s. From the catfish breakfast plate to praline bacon and the famous Bloody Mary, your taste buds are in for a treat.

Steins: Craving New York-style bagels? Head to Steins, where you’ll find the best bagels in town. Don’t miss out on the lox – it’s a game-changer.

Molly’s Rise and Shine: Emily’s go-to solo breakfast spot is Molly’s Rise and Shine, known for its nostalgic vibe and mouthwatering breakfast fare. It’s a must-visit for breakfast enthusiasts.

Atchafalaya: Atchafalaya offers a brunch that’s nothing short of amazing. Emily recommends trying their brunch offerings, which live up to all your expectations and then some.

Lunch or Dinner? You pick!

Sofia: Lindsay’s go-to for brunch, offering shareable drink options and bottomless mimosas. Don’t miss the crispy potatoes, meatballs, and eggs in purgatory – they’re absolute winners.

Paladar 511:  Aaron Martin recommends Paladar 511 for a fantastic dining experience for lunch or dinner, in an open and inviting atmosphere. The squid ink pasta is a crowd-pleaser, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Dinner in the Big Easy:

Mamou: Located on the edge of the French Quarter, Mamou is a delightful French bistro where art meets gastronomy. Josh Schooler suggests indulging in their Red Bean Cassoulet and Poisson al la Florentine for a taste of New Orleans’ culinary finesse.

N7: N7 is Aaron’s secret oasis in New Orleans, tucked away in an unsuspecting neighborhood. With a menu that changes regularly, it’s a great choice for a romantic date night. The beautiful outdoor garden setting makes it even more special.

Superior Seafood: Lindsay highly recommends Superior Seafood for its frozen mimosas and pomegranate Mojitos. Pair your drinks with the Tchoupitoulas Chicken, a delectable dish featuring chicken breast in a crawfish cream sauce with Monterey jack cheese.

Before or After-Dinner Drinks:

Bouligny Tavern: If you’re looking for a trendy spot with a mid-century vibe, Bouligny Tavern on Magazine Street is a must-visit. Aaron’s favorite cocktail, the Viva Zapata, is a must-try while you enjoy the dimmed lights and classy club atmosphere.

Brothers 3 Lounge: For a true New Orleans dive bar experience, Brothers 3 Lounge is the place to be. With a building brimming with character and patrons as colorful as a Tom Waits song, it’s a must-visit spot for those seeking authenticity.

Thanks to our New Orleans team members, you now have a curated list of the city’s local dining and drinking spots. Whether you’re looking for a romantic evening, a dive bar experience, or the best bagels in town, this list has you covered. So, grab your appetite and embark on a culinary journey through the flavors of New Orleans, as recommended by The Ramey Agency’s very own.
