Hunter Douglas
Hunter Douglas
As the nation’s leading high-end window covering brand, Hunter Douglas maintains sample books that are crucial to preserving its relevance with designers, dealers and customers. Each collection gets a major refresh every three years. Hunter Douglas turned to Ramey to helm the multifaceted creation and production of its Nantucket collection sample book.
Insight
Nantucket, the more sensibly priced product line within the Hunter Douglas shades division, required Ramey to carefully find the balance of remaining true to the high-end market, while also conveying the more casual design aesthetic. The overall design subtly speaks to this, giving the customer and designer subtle cues with a more casual feel and modern design sensibility.
Approach
The Hunter Douglas product line brings rooms to life in a very tactile way. So the Nantucket sample book had to deliver that experience to showrooms and design studios. Using the insights gathered from the ethnography we conducted, we developed the overall look and feel. Lifestyle and architectural photography showcased the line within the pages of a distinctive layout, while the materials and design of the slipcase ensured the Nantucket line stood apart from other collections on dealers’ sample shelves.
