The National Kitchen and Bath Association’s (NKBA) annual Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas was one for the books. As my business partner and colleague Eddie Woods and I descended upon the halls of the show – there was a magnetic feeling of being surrounded by so many great brands. Building on the momentum of last year’s KBIS return after pandemic cancelations, it was clear the NKBA was pulling out all the stops, as were the companies displaying.
We were able to enjoy time with several Ramey client partners, while attending the show.
Hestan had product collaborations across several key brand partners. The newly launched Hestan Indoor 30” Induction Range and complimentary ventilation hood (shown in signature Hestan color Tin Roof), were featured within the Cosentino booth. Additionally, Hestan Outdoor grills were featured at both Ventahood and John Michael Studio booths, including a giveaway opportunity.
Our client Zip Water had an outstanding presentation of product and demonstrations, showcasing the ingenuity and performance of its HydroTap 3-in-1 product, which features instant filtered boiling, chilled and sparkling water – all from a single tap.
Ramey was proud to bring several of our designer partners by to see the Zip Water HydroTap in action, including Sarah Robertson of Studio Dearborn, who also won the NKBA award for “Best Small Kitchen” and “Best Overall Kitchen” for her work Nashville-based Kelly Ladwig of Home on a Nashville Hill.
Additionally, our dear friend and design partner Kerrie Kelly of Kerrie Kelly Design Lab and NKBA board member, came by to highlight Zip Water in a video product feature. Kerrie is also a personal owner of a Zip Water HydroTap and knows firsthand the benefits it offers.
We were also able to visit with our friends from Vlaze, a U.K.-based brand with an amazing history and story, showcasing its new ADAPT collection of modular outdoor kitchens, using its vitreous enamel surface.
As mentioned, the displays across the board were next level this year. During the course of walking just over 16 miles (32,000 steps) across four display halls within two days, there were some common themes and trends that we are keeping an eye on for 2023. Our friends and design partners Kerrie Kelly and Sarah Robertson weighed in.
HERITAGE
“With the NKBA celebrating 60 years and Kohler toasting their 150th anniversary, there was a sense of “heritage” throughout the show. Timeless design elements, rich colors and darker titanium-like metal details provided a familiar, grounded feeling throughout the show floor.” – Kerrie Kelly
BIOPHILIC DESIGN & SUSTAINABILITY
“Additionally, a sense of modern biophilic design was present via wood grain, heavy texture and sustainable materials. Stacked stone, highly veined slabs and natural looking bricks and tiles took on a fresh new aesthetic through new color palettes and finish details.” – Kerrie Kelly
COLOR
“This year’s KBIS saw color, personality and customization jump to the forefront, responding to consumer’s desires for spaces that feel energetic, genuine and completely personal. We are craving spaces that really captivate our senses and our imaginations.” – Sarah Robertson
SMART FEATURES
“And who could resist the smart features being introduced to elevate our lifestyle when at home? Steam showers with personalized chroma and scent settings and appliances, such as Hestan’s Induction Range, with precision cooking and Marquis handle display offer an elegant, personalized experience.” – Kerrie Kelly
We’re excited to see how these trends come to life throughout spaces and design this year!
