Head of Finance

As a key member of the Ramey team, you will serve as a member of the agency’s leadership team and help shape the direction of the agency. 

Title will be determined during interview process and commiserate to experience. Potential titles considered include SVP/ Director of Finance or CFO.

Financial Lead Role:

  • Provide and present analysis of Agency financial status, trends, forecasts and pro formas complete with insights, conclusions and points of view that culminate in rationale-based recommendations with applicable cost ramifications.
  • Proactively generate and present ideas, solutions and procedures that maximize profitability and aid in corporate budgeting and planning.
  • Lead monthly financial meetings with partners and leadership team.
  • Remain current with evolving marketing and advertising industry-specific and general financial trends and practices in order to be knowledgeable and proactive.
  • Manage, mentor and develop finance and accounting team to create a best in class function.
  • Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, reports and governmental agency reports.
  • Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; make or oversee any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Own the financial process end-to-end. Review and implement best practices across the Agency to maintain appropriate procedures/process and controls.
  • Oversee payroll function and collaborate with Director of Operations on benefits and compensation packages.
  • Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
  • Oversee outside third-party CPA firm with quarterly meetings and tax preparation.

What’s needed for this role:

  • Minimum of 10  years or experience in an Accounting or Finance role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance highly preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years direct management and leadership experience
  • Advertising or media experience, a plus
  • Advanced level skills in Excel and Sage Intacct or Quickbooks
  • Experience working in Google Suite and Adobe
  • High level of communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal) and ability to interface with internal team members, industry contacts and clients
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines
  • High-level bookkeeping skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and manage work accordingly

Jackson, MS or New Orleans, LA preferred (Remote candidates considered)
